Prison Abolition & Transformative Justice Group
Abolition is about challenging the idea that some people are bad and wrong and some people are good and right and that the bad ones need punishing and locking away and that this will solve all our problems. It's about taking responsibility for vulnerable people as a community, creating alternatives to the prison system that look at root causes of peoples problems. e.g. an alternative way of dealing with interpersonal violence within communities through transformative justice processes.
